Thursdays' is known as Friday night (malam Jumaat) for us Malays. A night whereby we are suppose to be home early. This is particular night whereby theres spirits and souls around. I knew tat I'm getting superstitious here but I encountered something peculiar on my way home. The journey home took me roughly 15 minutes. I was afternoon shift on that day. My watch showed 11.50pm. As usual, it was quite windy and I enjoyed the night wind. As I was walking along the pathway, accompanied and sheltered by the rows of shallow trees, I was startled by the vigorous movement at this particular tree beside me. I was stunned and I froze for a few seconds before I actually started to walk while I chanted some prayers. My heart beats very fast and I took a few big steps ahead so that I can reached home ASAP. Even my own shadows scared the hell out of me sometimes. Eventually when I reached my block, I saw neighbours burning papers. I was relieved as theres still people around.
What a day?
Thinking about this reminds me of my ghost storytelling to my students at the student care ctr.
They love to listen to ghost story and keep asking for more.
I MISS THEM ALL.
Speaking of which this reminds me of my late grandfather. Whenever I encountered anything out of the ordinary, he will put a meaning to it.
I MISS HIM DEARLY.
