I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the great nurses'~ HAPPY NURSES' DAY.
GOOD NURSES SMILE IN TROUBLE,
GATHER STRENGTH FROM STRESS,
GROW STRONGER BY REFLECTION N PRAYERS.
Wonderful memories that used to keep me going from a student nurse to a staff nurse....
I remembered on one occasion whereby I used to be a 3rd year student at an orthopedic ward. It was nurses' day. There was this function held by the hospital at the ground floor. I nursed this male patient in his early thirties. He was admitted for broken leg (either his tibia/fibula). He was feeling down as his family were too busy to visit him and the nurses were too busy to wheel him down for the function. I was being instructed by the staff nurse to wheel him down.
He was very happy and thanked me upteens of times.
The weird thing was he asked me for a $2 note. He folded it and shaped it into a heart.
He told me that, that's the only way that he could thank me.
I was so happy that I had brightened his day.

Another memorable one would be when I did my attachment at KKH. I'm very scared to take care of ill children. But, a 7yrs old child named Mandy, gave me courage and confidence.
She was admitted for drowning. She had this one teddy bear that she would carry everywhere she go. I began to feel attached to her. She even named her teddy "KAMSIAH". She said that I will always be with her. She liked my name. :)
The day when she was discharged really made me sad,
as I didnt know that I would never ever gonna see her again.
I was so shocked and sad when I read an article stated that Mandy fell and was unconscious while she played at the void deck. She was rushed to the hospital and they couldnt saved her.
T_T
May Mandy rest in peace.
I will remember her as my little angel.
